I won the most recent round at lotr_lims, woohoo! Thank you to anyone who voted :) Here are 20 LotR icons, some from the lims and some not, and 30 (+1 bonus) ASOIAF icons made for this month's theme challenge ('endings') at valyrian_forged. Some may be spoilery, not for the actual ending of the series (I presume... grrm, if you're reading this, feel free to confirm ;) but for events therein like character deaths. Sorry for the long delay between posts. Holidays plus starting back to grad school have eaten most of my time for the last month. Which brings me to another point - I've always tried to reply to every comment you guys leave me here, but I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to do that anymore, at least not for a while. I have 700+ emails in my inbox and probably 650 of them are icon-related comments, and I just don't have time to say thanks to everyone individually anymore. I still appreciate the comments and read all of them, but I hope you won't be offended if my gratitude is taken as given :) Of course, if you have an actual question about an icon, I'll make sure to answer it as soon as I can, and I'm still accepting requests, though I can't guarantee how long it'll take me. What up - it would appear that I now have 400 people who've friended this journal. 400. That is totally insane! I mean, it was only in June that I had my celebratory 300 post :o Don't worry, this post will probably ensure that some people unfriend me :)

These are some icons made from the comics of the most awesome beatonna, Kate Beaton. She makes comics about history and being Canadian and growing up in Cape Breton and working in the Alberta oil sands and the Pope and PONIES, and she is a funny, funny lady. So if you aren't reading her comics, you should be. My icons can't really do them justice, but nevertheless I wanted to make an attempt at capturing some small degree of her awesomeness in icon form. I'll certainly do more of these, including some of PONY, but I figured I'd stick up what I've got done so far. Enjoy! Please comment if you take any, and credit Kate Beaton for the art. You can credit me for the icon if you want, but I don't require it, since basically all I've done is crop and animate a bit :)
